Golden Gate Philharmonic offers a robust music education program including full orchestral training, sectional rehearsals, music theory classes, multiple concert performances, an annual Cazadero Music Camp Retreat, and optional chamber music and “gig” programs.
Music theory instruction is required for all students, and is included with enrollment. Our program includes theory for all levels, using a comprehensive book series with written exercises.
• Regular Theory Classes:
Theory classes take place on Saturdays, 9:30AM to 11AM at SF High School of the Arts, 1970 Page Street.
Strings: Each Tuesday at 4:00PM, SOTA
We provide assistance and instruction on Tuesday rehearsal days from 4:00 – 4:30PM in the cafeteria at SOTA before rehearsals begin. These sessions are supplemental and not a substitute for the primary Saturday theory classes.

Theory lessons are incorporated into each Symphonic Wind and Cadet Orchestra rehearsals.
